We connect an LED to a solar panel and take it into the sunlight. The LED lights up using energy from the Sun, with no battery and no plug.

The panel is made of special material that turns sunlight into electricity. The brighter the sunlight, the more electricity it gives, and the brighter the LED glows. This is clean energy because it does not make smoke.
🌍 Where is this used in real life?
- Solar street lights glow at night from sunlight stored in the day.
- Rooftop panels run fans, lights and even fridges in many homes.
- Calculators, garden lamps and satellites use solar power.
💡 What could YOU invent with it?
Invent a “solar study lamp” for children in villages where electricity cuts are common. It could charge in the sun all day and give them light to study in the evening.

Does the LED glow in the shade, in a cloudy sky or under a table lamp? Test each place and note the brightness.
